Kris Carlson is the Chief Operations Officer at LCG Discovery Experts, bringing over 26 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, and complex civil and criminal investigations. As COO, Kris oversees all operational aspects of LCG, including security, personnel management, and project execution, ensuring that the company delivers high-quality digital services to federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) government agencies. His extensive background in digital forensics and high-tech investigations, combined with his leadership in managing large-scale security operations, positions him as a key figure in guiding LCG’s strategic initiatives.Before joining LCG, Kris served as a law enforcement officer and held prominent roles within the Northern New England Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Vermont ICAC and one of only two Statewide Special Victim Units. As a Detective Lieutenant, SVU Director and ICAC Commander, he led statewide initiatives on complex specialty crimes, technical investigations, cybercrime, and digital evidence, working closely with federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Unites States Secret Service, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Attorney’s Office. Kris’ expertise in case management, project supervision, and technical engagements (including cybersecurity and digital forensics) has been instrumental in addressing critical challenges in data security, risk mitigation, and compliance for government clients.Kris is also a recognized national instructor, having trained thousands of law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, and support staff across the U.S. and Canada on topics ranging from technical investigations to mental health wellness. He has presented to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on ICAC operations and is a founding member and primary presenter for SHIFT (Supporting Heroes in Mental Health Foundational Training), which focuses on the wellness of those exposed to traumatic materials.
